Dashmool Kwath Churna for Vata & Pain Disorders

Dashmool is one of Ayurveda’s most respected formulations, traditionally used to balance Vata dosha, support musculoskeletal health, and promote natural inflammatory balance.
Dashmool consists of ten roots—five Brihat Panchamoola and five Laghu Panchamoola; however, composition may vary slightly across manufacturers depending on the classical reference.

Dashmool Kwath Churna is prepared by coarsely powdering herbal roots, ideal for decoction (Kwath) preparation, delivering deeper tissue penetration and faster relief.

How to Use

Boil 3–5 g Dashmool Churna in 200 ml water, reduce to 50 ml, strain, and consume warm, Once or twice daily or as advised by a physician. Anupana: Warm water for Vata, Honey for Kapha or Ghee for Pitta

Safety & Precautions

  • Consult a practitioner during pregnancy or lactation
  • Avoid in acute diarrhea, dehydration, or severe acidity
  • Patients with chronic kidney disorders should use with care
  • Monitor if using alongside strong diuretics or anti-hypertensive drugs
  • Stop during fever with dehydration unless advised by physician
  • Keep away from moisture; store in an airtight container
  • Not recommended for children unless prescribed

Dosha-Based Indications

  • Vata Disorders (Primary Use): Arthritis (Sandhivata), sciatica (Gridhrasi), cervical/lumbar spondylosis, joint stiffness, neuralgia, tremors, postpartum recovery
  • Pitta-Vata Conditions: Inflammatory joint pain, gastric irritation with musculoskeletal pain (combine with cooling herbs)
  • Kapha-Vata Conditions: Heavy, stiff joints, chronic respiratory congestion with Vata imbalance, obesity-related joint pain

Recommended Combinations

  • Arthritis & Chronic Joint Pain. Combine with Dashmool Kwath + Maharasnadi Kwath With Guggulu formulations (Yograj, Mahayograj, Triphala Guggulu)
  • Sciatica / Lower Back Disorders. Combine with Eranda Taila (1 tsp at bedtime) and Nirgundi preparations
  • Respiratory Conditions (Shwas-Kasa). Combine with Vasa, Pushkarmool, or Sitopaladi and good for Kapha-Vata cough
  • Postpartum Care (Only under supervision). Combine with Dashmoolarishta, Jeerakadyarishta, and warm decoctions
  • Fever with Body Ache (Jwara). Combine with Guduchi, Sudarsana Churna and Trikatu for Ama digestion
